Barbara Waterhouse, Founder & Executive Director

Barbara Waterhouse founded Circle of Hope in 2008 and is currently President and Executive Director. She is also President of Waterhouse Consulting, Inc. and has had an extensive career in public health. She currently serves on Episcopal City Mission’s Burgess Urban Fund Committee and previously served on the Board of Directors of Horizons Collaborative, Inc. and the University of Massachusetts Boston Alumni Board. Additionally, Barbara was a 2016 recipient of the Roy London Humanitarian Award. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, and spending time with her family.


Carolyn Conley-Das, Communications Manager

Carolyn started at Circle of Hope in September 2016 as our Communications & Outreach Manager. Carolyn has an MSW from the Simmons College Graduate School of Social Work. Prior to joining Circle of Hope, she worked as an advocate at a domestic violence program and as a therapeutic mentor in Boston Public Schools. She also spent five years as a tour guide at a stop on Boston's Freedom Trail. In her spare time, she can be found hiking in the White Mountains, planning her next trip, or curled up with a book. 


Stephanie Matern, Administrative Assistant

Stephanie joined Circle of Hope as our Administrative Assistant after taking a few years away from the working world to raise her two young children. They are both in school full time now and she's ready to apply her 20 years of work experience in administration and marketing here at Circle of Hope. She lives with her husband and children in Dedham, MA and enjoys cooking, knitting, and yoga.


Jody Barnet, Operations Manager

Jody joined the Circle of Hope team as Operations Manager in September 2017.  Jody was a sociology major and has spent most of her career in customer service, account management and education.  Most recently, she has been volunteering at her children's elementary school.  Jody grew up in Needham and loves living here with her husband and two kids.  She enjoys spin classes, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.


Christine Ruddy, Development Associate

Christine joined Circle of Hope as our Development Associate in September 2017.  Prior to joining our team, Christine spent many years practicing real estate law and raising her three children. She lives in Needham with her family and enjoys cooking, tennis and gathering around the dinner table with family and friends.
