How to Help: Give Clothing
Your donations of clothing, toiletries, and bedding are vital to our mission to help homeless children, women, and men achieve self-sufficiency. Our team of volunteers collects, sorts, and distributes new and gently used items for 21 Boston-area shelters and clinics. Due to the drastic rise in homelessness over the past 10 years, the organizations we serve depend more than ever on Circle of Hope's donations.
Current Special Requests:
- Women's sneakers in all sizes
- Packages of new white crew socks for men and women
- Baby clothing in sizes preemie through 6 months
Donations can be dropped off at 65 Rosemary Street in Needham, MA during the following hours:
Mon 9-11 am | Tue 9-11 am & 3-5 pm | Wed 9-11 am & 3-5 pm | Thu 9-11 am | Sat (Sept-June) 9-11 am
Circle of Hope will be closed Wednesday, July 4 through Sunday, July 8 for Independence Day.
Our last day of Saturday drop-off hours is June 30.
We will be closed Friday, July 27 through Tuesday, September 4. The last day to drop off donations before we close is Thursday, July 26 from 9-11 am.
Donations We Accept
To affirm the dignity of the individuals we serve, we can only accept items that are clean and in excellent condition, including:
Clothing & Shoes*
- Casual pants and jeans
- Shirts, sweaters, and jackets
- Infant clothing
- Shoes, sneakers, and casual footwear in excellent condition
- New underwear, socks, and bras
- Winter coats
- Hats, gloves, scarves, mittens
*Please note, we do not accept professional clothing.
- Soap (bar and liquid)
- Toothpaste and toothbrushes
- Body lotion and hand lotion
- Lip balm/chapstick
*All toiletries must be new and unopened. We accept travel-sized and full-sized items.
- Backpacks and large tote bags
Donations We Do Not Accept
- Items that are not clean and in good condition
- Professional clothing, including business suits, blazers, dresses and skirts, pocketbooks, briefcases, high-heeled shoes, or panty hose
- Kitchenware and appliances
- Books and toys
- Opened toiletries
How to Help: Run A Drive
Collection drives are a great way to make a big impact and running a collection drive is easier than it might sound! You can run a drive at your workplace, school, church, community group, or right from your own home. You can run a general collection drive and gather all of the items we accept, or you can choose to focus on one particular type of item, like toiletries or children's clothing.
Put 1-3 donation bins around your chosen location and advertise your collection drive via email, flyers, church bulletins, and/or word of mouth. Collection drives typically last 2-3 weeks, but they can be longer or shorter depending on your needs. When you have filled your donation bins, go through the items and make sure everything is in good condition. Then drop the donations off at Circle of Hope during our drop-off hours...it's that easy!
